President-elect works on restructuring Office of the Director of National Intelligence, tweets again his doubts that Russia hacked Democrats
What is significant about the Office of the Director of National Intelligence is that it was part of the vast restructuring of the intelligence agencies that took place after the “failures” of September 11, 2001 – as was the creation of the Department of Homeland Security.
So, was the creation of the Director of National Intelligence a needed restructuring of the Intelligence Community to prevent the failures (or subversion) that led to 9/11? Or was the creation of the DNI actually a consequence of neo-conservative subversion and a gelding of the presumably patriotic faction of the IC?
